What I do
In my current role as Community Programs Manager at Portland Center Stage, I serve as a cultural event producer and I am responsible for planning and executing events that elevate local artists and organizations, celebrate diversity, honor tradition, and foster community connections.
I work on a variety of events, including festivals, art exhibitions and installations, educational workshops, civic panel discussions, and curating live music and dance performances for our First Thursdays and BIPOC Affinity Nights throughout the calendar year.
Some responsibilities of my role include:
Conceptualizing events: Creating events that resonate with diverse audiences of all ages
Planning logistics: Methodically planning the logistics of the event and staffing
Curating programming: Curating engaging programming in support of our theater season through partnerships with local organizations and subject matter experts
Promoting the event: Promoting the event effectively in collaboration with our Marketing and social media teams
Managing vendors, performers, and attendees: Ensuring smooth execution on the day of the event by managing vendors, performers, and attendees
